It has been some time since my last posting. Weeks roll on and I don't take the time to update here.
There have been good things going on. My mother gave me the gift of warmth for this coming Christmas. We are getting insulation blown into the attic on Monday between 8-10 am. Unfortunately the cold return already today;-)
We are also trying to schedule someone to help us install a wood burning stove. Apparently this requires a building permit from the city, as it is a potential health hazard if it is not correctly installed. I can understand that.
It is really just the chimney part that needs someone to install it, once that is in we can connect the stove ourselves.
Sophia had another Temple trip last Saturday and she really loves going to the Temple. I am so happy for her!
In YW they have been sewing PJ pants, and she found a really cute fabric with dogs on it. Sometimes I do wish I was more of a 'crafty' mother, so I could show her how to sew, but I don't own a sewing machine. And it has been so long since I sewed. And looking at it, with patterns, sewing machine, thread, time used for it and cost of fabric. It really wouldn't pay for me to sew our clothing.. But it is a good thing to know how to do.. I think one day we might need it..
Amanda is doing better in school now also. I am pleased that she is finally taking homework seriously. I am glad she has a good and committed teacher that pushes her!
The boys are also doing good. Jacob is much better at controlling his temper this year. And Jonathan is doing better now since he can see!! Glasses are a good thing.
I was surfing around at YouTube and found some songs to share. I love this one. So to all Women
Especially my two daughters. As women we are daughters of god, our worth is infinite!
For those days when we feel lost, maybe not as close to the Father as we wish for.
He is always there for us. Trust him, we all need to do that!
One more for the road. I know that God is our father. That He sent His Son to suffer and die for us. So that we can someday return to Him.
To my family, I love you all!
Some good and thoughtworthy quotes to end this post. From my new favorite smart bear. Winnie the Pooh.
“"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best -- " and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called”
"Those who are clever, who have a Brain, never understand anything.”
“Pooh looked at his two paws. He knew that one of them was the right, and he knew that when you had decided which one of them was the right, then the other was the left, but he never could remember how to begin”
“If you live to be 100, I hope I live to be 100 minus 1 day, so I never have to live without you.”
“You can't help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn't spell it right; but spelling isn't everything. There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn't count.”
“Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing"
“"Pooh," said Rabbit kindly, "you haven't any brain." "I know," said Pooh humbly.”
How can one not love this smart bear? Have a wonderful day! Thanks for reading.
