This is our new kitchen sink. It is black!! Just ignore the dishes in it.. And picture the counter top as black granite and the cupboards as dark wood. Some day our kitchen will look nice.. We hope;-)
Since my last posting here several things have happened. I found out my very good friend (I have known her since fourth grade) had a baby boy, her third child, and also that she has breast cancer. So sad for her. She is going through chemo therapy right now, and will have a mastectomy and then radiation. My thoughts are with her in this difficult time of hers.
As for Valentines Day, we don't celebrate it so much, which is fine with me!
But as the tax money came yesterday, we did decide to go and order our new windows!! It will be Champions Windows. And only ground floor this time. Basement will have to wait. But it will be very nice to get them. As they are custom made, the company sends out a guy to measure existing windows, and he will be here on Monday. After that it will take 6-8 weeks for the windows to come and they will install them for us.
So the layout will be: Living room will get a "three sliding window" , the upstairs bedrooms will have regular sliding windows, the kitchen will get a "double hung" and the window in the stairway will have a fixed window. (does not open). The bathroom will get an "awning" window that is also frosted.
Also we signed up for their "yard sign program" which means. They put one of their yard signs in our yard, and if a person sees it and it results in them ordering windows, we get 150 dollars. Not any guarantee for money, but it could happen?!
Work, for the most time, is going better. Me and Alisa are trying to be more civil to each other. To talk more and work together instead of as rivals. Hopefully it will get better with time. Yesterday was a difficult day though. Not for me personally, but for the hospital. A big mistake was made by one of our doctors, resulting in the death of a cat. It really made the whole day hard for us all.
Basically. The cat came in for a leg amputation, but through lacking in procedure, the wrong leg was taken off. The operating doctor took the decision of euthanizing the cat as he noticed the mistake. The cat could not have lived a good life with both hind legs amputated.
It was a very preventable mistake and the doctor takes full responsibility for the mistake done. Not blaming the tech or other staff at all. But I know the tech that anesthetized the cat, feels very bad about the whole thing also. As do the receptionist that recorded wrong information in the patient record.
In a way, I am glad to be in a position where responsibility is minimal. I know I would beat myself up about it for a long time, if I had been involved. Regardless of the Doctors reassuring that he takes the blame.
Also.. Jonathan is sick. Strep throat this time. We are hoping the rest of the family gets to do without.
Till next time.
