Fun week..

So, it is Wednesday. Monday I called in sick. Have a bad cold, and I get really bad when I spike a fever.. So.. Monday I spent in bed. Got the 'Twilight' book to read, but was too tired to actually read..

But Tuesday, i had to go back to work. I can't afford to stay home any longer, sick or not. And I was feeling a little better. The day went smoothly enough, and finally it was time for me to go home. And that is when the most exciting thing of the day happened.

I got out to my car, and clicked it open (with my key remote;-) ) And was going to get in, when I heard a 'squeaking' sound. I looked around on the ground and saw a mouse? I thought, at first. But it was actually a bat. It clearly was not a healthy bat.. And just that morning the news had been warning that rabid skunks have been found within city limits. So.. I went back into the hospital, to find a vet. To help me figure out what to do..

Dr miller was the first Vet I saw. So I told her, that it was a bat under my car. She looked at me like..: So..? So I said I needed some help, What do I do? She again looks at me.. And slowly said: "Move it?... What? Did somebody try to break into your car?"
It dawns on me, that she thinks I am talking about a BASEBALL bat, not the flying animal kind.. So I laugh, and flax my arms as I say: "No, a 'bat'". Now she gets it.. (I am the foreigner..)

So, Dr Miller, Paulette, Khristin and I go out to my car, to look at the bat. It was still there. Paulette wanted to pick it up, and bring it inside to euthanize, but Dr Miller informed us that Rabies is airborne. So we couldn't do that. It would have to be euthanized outside. At that point I left the rest of them to figure it out, and found out today, that Dr Colvin had euthanized the bat with a shovel.. And it was dumped in our dumpster, not even tested for rabies. As the State Health Department wouldn't do it unless the hospital payed for it..

At least I had eyewitnesses to my 'wildlife spotting' this time;-) (Unlike the squirrel thing..)

Tonight Sophia had her first Temple Interview. She is going on Saturday, to do baptisms for the dead. Big day for my little girl!
