Young marines.

I was reading the Swedish 'news'paper Aftonbladet, and saw an article about 'Young marines'. The article made it sound as a bad thing, in usual 'bashing everything US' spirit, but it got me curious. So I googled it and after speaking to Richard we contacted the local Young marines at Fort Carson to see if this is something we want Jacob and Jonathan to enroll in.

We are invited to the meeting on Sat. Dec 12Th and the next boot camp starts in February. I think it'll be good for the boys!!

Translated article:

Brandon Curry, 8, is a soldier in the U.S. service

U.S. Trains thousands of child soldiers every year. Young Marines are recruited at age 8. Follow their daily lives in this unique article.
Young Marines - is an organization in the United States that has existed for fifty years and are recruiting young boys and girls 8-12 years of age to drill them in military discipline, physical activity, endurance and a drug-free living.
On the schedule are all from Mandatory military exercises, History to know about the Vietnam War and other milestones in the American war story. The training aimed implicitly at encouraging the "moral and physical self-awareness".

There are three hundred Young marine groups around the United States, grouped into six divisions. Overall, the organization has 16 000 members. Pentagon spends $7 million every year on child soldiers and recruit them.

Critics of U.S. naval schools is unequivocal in its view. This is child soldiers formed to become machines of death and is a direct source selection to the real Marines.

Well, there you have it...
