We are spending way too much money on co-pays and meds.. At the same time as some people with much money in the bank worry about having to pay for x-rays and their own crutches. It would be so much better if 'someone else' paid...
Yes, it is easy to forget that health care in the great country of Sweden also costs money.. Landstinget complains all the time about lack of funds, staff is paid low wages and are overworked since Landstinget can't afford to hire more staff.. But for the patient it must needs be better? Right? Who cares if you have to wait for hours before seeing an overworked nurse, if 'someone else' is paying for it?
Yes, we do have insurance, that we do have to pay for. Some of it is paid for by Rich's employer, and some of it is paid for by us. And then it is the co-pay. Even in Sweden we would have to come up with cash to see the doctor. Even in Sweden we would have to pay for the meds. Especially the first few times, before 'hogkostnadsskyddet' would come into play.
And high taxes would eat more off our income. In the end, what is cheaper for us? I don't know..
I do know that Obamacare would be more costly! In the end..
Anyhow.. Jonathan had to redo his blood draw, since they ended up with clotted blood from the draw on Monday.
Sophia is still home.. We got a hold of Dr Hollister today, and he prescribed Prednesolone. A steroid. She is taking two tabs of 5mg twice daily, until Monday. If she is better, well enough to attend school, we will decrease the dose to 1 5mg twice daily, for a few days, and then stop. If she is not getting better by Monday, then we are to go to Denver to have her seen by him.
We also had our Home teacher come by to help Rich give Sophia a blessing.
The week has been long, so happy it is Friday tomorrow!!
