Graduation and flare-ups..

This week has been long. Sophia had a flare-up this whole week. In bed and lethargic most of the time.
So what led up to it this time? We think (know) that she forgot to take her Pred a few times last week. Monday AM she woke up, with her red cheeks again, but said she felt OK. But by 8am she was back in bed. Wednesday Rich decided to up her pred on our own, we couldn't get a hold of her Dr.

We upped it from 5mg /day to 10mg/day. One pill in the am and one in the pm. Fri. the Dr finally called back.

He upped it to 30mg/day!!! 15mg (three pills) in the am and 15mg in the pm. Over the weekend. And a call back on Monday again. He is now talking stronger steroids. And I really worry. Steroids have side affects that I don't like..

Rich wants new blood work, but I am not sure what good that would do.. We are not trying to make sure she has the correct levels of anything right now. Only trying to keep flare-ups to a minimum.

Anyhow.. On a happier note. The kids all graduated from recruits to actual Young Marines yesterday.

Sophia and Jonathan, with their certificates.

Jonathan, Jacob and Amanda. They are all Young Marines Private right now. Next rank will be Private First Class.

Amanda is tired after the long day, but Sophia is proudly standing in Attention.
I am so proud of them!!

The whole group, or Platoon. There were over 60 kids in this bootcamp platoon. The biggest they have ever had in this chapter of the Young Marines.
Have a great day!!
